Project Overview

Role: Prime Consultant

M&J Engineering, D.P.C. (M&J) is providing construction administration and inspection for the replacement of Bridge L-29 in the Town of Lagrange. The project consists of the removal of the existing 39’-6” span jack arch structure and construction of a new 58’-0” span box beam bridge with a minor increase in the vertical profile.
The new bridge will be founded on steel piles. The project also includes all ancillary highway work including paving, signs, guide rail, and ground restoration. The project is located between the Northbound Exit from the Taconic State Parkway onto CR 21 and the Intersection of CR 21 with Rymph Road.

M&J’s responsibilities included maintaining project records, including daily inspection reports, quantity tracking, pay estimates, survey notes, and record drawings; conducting on-site field tests and detailed inspections of materials and workmanship; reviewing and approving non-structural shop drawings; monitoring contractor adherence to traffic safety and maintenance requirements; enforcing compliance with all applicable health and safety standards; reviewing certified payrolls for accuracy and compliance; and coordinating final project documentation and closeout processes, including submission of final estimates and delivery of indexed and cataloged project records, engineering data, and stamped record plans.

This project was completed successfully and the road was reopened ahead of schedule.
