Project Overview

Role: Design Engineering and Survey

M&J Engineering (M&J) is providing design engineering and construction inspection services for the Town of Waterbury’s Washington Avenue Realignment Project. This comprehensive project involves the realignment of Washington Avenue, incorporating utility upgrades and extensive site improvements to enhance safety, mobility, and community accessibility. The design services include preparing detailed plans and specifications for the roadway realignment and drainage improvements while conducting geotechnical studies, environmental evaluations, and controlled material assessments. In addition, cross sections, profiles, topographic surveys, and comprehensive design documents will be developed in compliance with local, state, and federal standards. As part of the bidding services, M&J Engineering will assist the Town in drafting bid documents, facilitating pre-bid inspections, and evaluating contractor proposals to ensure alignment with DECD and municipal requirements. During construction, M&J Engineering will provide administration services to monitor progress, ensuring the project adheres to established timelines and regulatory standards. This will involve reviewing contactor submittals and change orders for accuracy and compliance while offering technical support throughout the construction phase. Furthermore, site inspections will be conducted to assess workmanship, materials, and progress, with adjustments or challenges addressed promptly through collaboration with stakeholders.
