Project Overview

Role: Construction Management and Inspection Services

M&J Engineering D.P.C. (M&J), as part of a team, providing as-needed inspection and design, expert engineering and support, and construction management and inspection services for the Central Business District Tolling Program (CBDTP), or congestion pricing, which will reduce traffic and fund critical improvements to New York’s transit system by tolling vehicles that enter Manhattan’s central business district (CBD). The CBD includes all roadways south of and inclusive of 60th Street, except for the FDR Drive and the West Side Highway/Route 9A, including the Battery Park Underpass and surface roadway portions of the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel connecting to West Street.

The project included installation of 110 toll readers, conduit, electrical wires, communication wires including fiber optic cable, pole foundations, poles, equipment cabinets, and meter cabinet; painting of new conduit; installation of Con Edison junction box, installation of Verizon junction box; inspection of power feed from Con Edison; and maintenance of toll readers.
